Conveniently located at the start of the Dragon Trail route in a beautiful TN wooded area. It's in a rural setting, but only 15-20 mins away from Maryville, which has all the conveniences of a small city. It's also less than an hour to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated for car and bike enthusiasts, and furnished with a full kitchenette. The apartment size refrigerator with a full size freezer is a nice change from the standard small hotel size fridges. The staff is friendly and checked in daily to see if there was anything we needed. The owner even agreed to keep the kitchen open late one evening when we returned later than planned from our day trip. Service is over and above normal expectations. Lastly, this was our 2nd extended stay at Dragon City, and both times the other guests were friendly and outgoing. We met others from across the states from Michigan to Texas. We had fun meeting new people while enjoying the fire pit area. If you're looking for a fancy, run of the mill hotel, this may not hit the mark, but if you're interested in a unique stay in a gorgeous area with clean rooms and personalized service, Dragon City hits all the marks. We will definitely be returning for future vacations.

5+ stars! I’m writing this from Room #1 at the hotel in one of the most comfortable hotel beds ever. Had a nice dinner next door. The owner of the restaurant stayed open later so another guest and I could get dinner. The themed decore is fun and fits the location. The cost of the accommodations are a fraction of the overpriced “historic” hotel at the other end of the Tail of the Dragon. This is not a biker hotel like some might think. This is a great place for anyone traveling through this area. It just happens that most of us here are on bikes or in cars to drive these amazing roads. It is also veteran owned. Make sure you stay here on your next visit to this area.

Fantastic hotel with a great personality and wonderful people! The rooms are clean and they really nailed the motorsport theme. Close proximity to the Dragon makes is perfect if you like to drive. The host, Dan, is one of the kindest and most genuine individuals I've ever met. He brings a really good vibe to the whole place and makes you feel right at home. Vibes and food at the restaurant are great too. I can't wait to stay there again and strongly suggest you check it out.

This is a must stay!! The room was very clean and presentable a you can tell from the video. The robes were soft and fluffy. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchenette was equipped with everything we needed. There was even some snacks on the table and cookies in there fridge! This place has everything you need for a one night stop or several nights. The owner was nice and helpful as soon as we arrived. Check in was easy and done all on my phone. We even went out to the big field that night to enjoy the stars. You can see a lot more in the middle of the mountains than you can in town. All in all, this place was amazing. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend you book your stay there. We also had a burger the night we came in and out was very delicious. Again, book your stay, you won't leave disappointed.

What a cool place! We were driving through the area with our kids after visiting family. This was one of the only places around, but let me tell you, even if it wasn't it would STILL be the best. I wasn't sure what to expect because my wife did the booking. I was excited because there were 4 double beds bunk bed style. Each kid could have their own bed. As we drove around the bend a Dragon's neck came into view. It was a really cool experience. We puked into the parking lot and listened to a nearby creek chuckle by as my wife got out the door code. Check in and out we're simple on our phones. Impressive! Then we went into the room and it felt like I was going to spend the night at The Cool Uncle's House. You know the one. The one with the good stories and adventurous life who can fix anything. It felt like that. Inside the rooms were clean, tidy, and felt... Like my cool uncles house... Better than home. Snacks on the tables. Cold water in the fridge. Perfect. I WILL be staying again if I'm ever within 100 miles and need a place to stay. My only regrets are that we couldn't stay longer.

Dragon City Resort – A Hidden Gem Near the Tail of the Dragon! What an incredible find! Dragon City Resort absolutely exceeded expectations. The room was spotless, modern, and super comfortable — everything felt freshly updated and thoughtfully designed. You can tell the owners care about every detail, right down to the little things like the cookies waiting in the fridge (seriously, those were awesome). The location is perfect — just minutes from the Tail of the Dragon and Foothills Parkway — ideal for riders and road-trippers alike. Easy parking, peaceful atmosphere, and the kind of friendly hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. Even though my stay was short, I could tell this is the kind of place people come back to again and again. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in the area. If you’re anywhere near Maryville or running the Dragon, stay here — you won’t regret it.
